The fuel of the future
Someone from the biodiesel side of things, I think it was Gene Gebolys, once said that "hydrogen will always be the fuel of the future." As pretty as the hydrogen utopia is, it is still decades and billions, if not trillions of bucks away.
It's a good thing George Bush gets it. Obviously the protesters at Stanford University, Howie Klein and Neil Young (if you haven't you must see Neil's recent interview talking about his new album and song, "Impeach the President") have overlooked the president's tough new stance on global warming and energy independence. In fact, W fully buys into the hydrogen future, which is convenient since it is a distraction from the reality today. And bleak as it is out there, a move for more practical political action, such as higher taxes at the fuel pump and greater subsidies for clean technologies could bring positive results now.
The president's head is so far up Cheney's ass, in fact, that conservative members of his own GOP are calling him out for his his position on global warming.
